So yesterday was the last round of The Great Flower Design Off, ahead of next week's Grand Final, with Judges hailing from far and wide Hein a flower expert of 20 years will be flying in from Holland & my lovely Mum a florist for over 50 years will be heading over from Manchester.

The idea for TGFDO came from our daughter Olivia way back in the Spring, I was telling her about the great folks from North West Children's Support Group  and about the superb work they do, taking children with a whole range of disabilities on remarkable and memorable holidays, our inspirational friends the completely lovely Paul & Pip have a beautiful daughter Katie who has been lucky enough to enjoy the holidays organised by NWCSG.

We had the great pleasure of meeting Paul (a different Paul) from NWCSG, he came along to one of our Breakfast Club Meetings, he inspired us to 'do something' to help raise some funds for this brilliant but very small charity, but what to do??? Our Olivia had that light bulb moment and The Great Flower Design Off was born.

Each year we have a nominated charity that the FD Events Team support, running small events, demonstrations etc to raise funds for our community, but this really has been our biggest project to date. The grand final will be next Wednesday and if you'd like to vote for your favourite please head over to our Face Book Page, just 'like' the images of the contestants you like the very best and your votes will be added to the judges scores from the day to determine who will be in the final next week with a chance to win fresh flowers from Flower Design every month for a year and Dinner Bed & breakfast at one of the James Places Venues, plus a spectacular trophy from Peter Jackson the Jeweller.

We are so lucky to have a remarkable group of friends and work colleagues who have whole heartedly supported our efforts and actually made it possible to run The Great Flower Design Off, massive thanks to Team Flower Design Shirl, Vicky, Chloe & Claire, to Gary Mill's DJ for hosting the heats and next week's final, to the super brilliant Roland from RT Productions and Wedding Films for filming each weeks action for us, Photographers Stella, James Jebson, Dan Wootton and next week the Fairclough's for recording the contestants work, Darren Robinson Magician who has entertained our contestants in between challenges, Ribby Hall Village Weddings for supplying the tables and to our wonderful Dutch suppliers CJ Vianen for their sponsorship we truly couldn't have got this far without you all.
